First Exhibition Game - January 13, 2007

Carolina Fury forward Jennifer Howell's friends and family have been doing a lot of talking about beating the Fury in a Hockey game. So, for the Fury's first exhibition game, those friends and family met the Fury at Aycock Gym just to see what would happen.

What happened was one the most exciting exhibition games ever. The away team was first to score and held a one point lead at 4-3 until the last minute of the game. Your Carolina Fury never gave up and scored the tying goal in the last minute of regulation. On to overtime!

The away team never had a chance. With the shift in momentum, the Carolina Fury scored a goal and the win two minutes into overtime. The fans didn't storm the court, but I'm sure they wanted to.

As for Jennifer's friends and family. They're not talking as much for some reason!! Go Fury!! Next game is February 24.

Elon University Wheelchair Basketball Tournament

November 6, 2006 - Elon University Wheelchair Basketball Tournament

Elon University and Josh Cranfill hosted a wheelchair basketball tournament, where the players were able bodied and they used manual chairs. Most of the teams were made of people from Elon Fraternities and Sororities, and even a group of Professors had a team. Each team had to pay $15 and they got t-shirts and a dinner. The event was called Skillz on Wheelz and Josh and his group organized everything. Josh was the main recruiter and went out and got sponsors from the community. In total the event raised $7,000. Jonathan and Josh went to the class before the event and talked about the NCEWHA and the Carolina Fury to let them really see what their money was going to. Jonathan gave a little speech to all the fans and the teams on the night of the event. A special thanks to Josh and his hard work on this project.
